World Liver Day: Simple Diet Changes Can Cut Fatty Liver Risk by 50%, Warns Experts

On the occasion of World Liver Day, an article in Patrika highlights how small lifestyle changes—such as including green vegetables, whole grains, and a balanced diet—can reduce the risk of fatty liver by up to 50%. It draws attention to the increasing number of young patients being diagnosed with fatty liver due to poor dietary habits, lack of physical activity, and excessive consumption of sugary and processed foods.

The article cites health department data showing that over 26,000 patients were screened for liver-related issues in the past year, and over 5,300 were treated. Alarmingly, 40% of hospital liver patients are now being diagnosed with fatty liver.

Dr. Arun Singh Bhadoria, Consultant, Gastroenterology, Medanta Indore, highlights that the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver is increasing among children. Obesity and gastric issues are making even children vulnerable to this condition.
